Job description

POSITION: ASSISTANT MEDICAL OFFICER - REVENUE MANAGEMENT

Assists the Medical Advisor and Medical Officer on all Insurance issues and coordinate with staff and Insurance Companies with direct billing arrangement with AHD.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with stakeholders
  • Coordination with following appropriate personnel to ensure that all the formalities as agreed with the insurance companies are followed to minimize objections from them and delays in clarifications to the insurance companies:

o Patient Relations

o Nursing

o Physicians

o Finance

  • Monitoring and follow up on prior authorization for outpatient services wherever required and all Inpatient services
  • Claims analysis prior to their submission to insurance companies by Finance
  • Reconciliation of claims paid and outstanding with insurance companies and coordination with Finance
  • Demonstrates functional and business knowledge required for the job and applies that to following the requirements of Insurance Companies in the Hospital and follow-up with the Companies
  • Makes accurate, thorough and appropriate work a priority
  • Anticipates and sets priorities to support department needs and follow policies and procedures for achieving them
  • Identify and analyze problems, take action to resolve, apply sound judgement and take responsibility for their resolution
  • Supports the Hospital Policies and Procedures
  • Supports the Department Policies and Procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field, Medical preferred
  • Very good understanding of hospital operations
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Excellent relationship management
  • Excellent analytical and organization

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three (3) years in similar field.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy essential.
