We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager – Underwriting Property (International) for one of our clients, based in their Abu Dhabi office.

Job Purpose:

  • To underwrite a profitable book of Property & Casualty business, focusing on the Industrial sector, Power sector, and Commercial Properties.

Job Description:

  • Achieve the International Division’s budget for Property & Casualty Line of Business (LOB).
  • Underwrite risks aligned with the company's underwriting philosophy and risk appetite.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and cedants.
  • Manage renewals, including negotiations with brokers and cedants, ensuring smooth processes.
  • Deliver excellent service levels to business partners.
  • Support in preparing the annual budget for Property & Casualty, aligned with organizational growth and underwriting philosophy.
  • Document underwriting thought processes and rationales properly.
  • Follow up regularly with business partners on new inquiries and renewals.
  • Provide support to departments such as Claims, Finance, and Reinsurance when needed.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Gross written premium
  • Loss ratio, bottom line, net profit
  • Number of quotes and conversion ratio
  • Renewal retention ratio
  • TAT and complaints from business partners
  • Duly completed risk assessment sheets
  • Monthly visits to brokers in Dubai and regional visits as required
  • Conversion ratio, production reports, renewal retention reports, business pipeline, occupancy-wise loss ratio reports
