The Commercial & Services Department manages all aspects of airline customer relationships for Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC). It serves as the key interface between EKFC and airline clients, overseeing customer engagement, contract management, pricing, and coordination of commercial activities.
Job Purpose
To lead the Business Support team in managing and distributing airline documentation, including pricing, menus, flight schedules, customer notices, and other related material. The role ensures accurate data handling and timely submission of required information across internal stakeholders and customer portals, maintaining operational continuity and commercial integrity.
Key Result Areas
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the Business Support team by providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure accurate and timely completion of deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure final approved airline menu changes are correctly captured and broadcast. Oversee the structured distribution of service updates such as menu updates, SOPs, memos, flight schedules, and operational notices to ensure seamless internal alignment.
- Disseminate critical airline documentation such as loading ratios, internal specifications, plating guides, and menu photo albums to relevant departments, ensuring all flight services are executed as per client expectations.
- Coordinate menu changes and loading scale adjustments with internal departments to ensure accurate updates in the ERP system, correct customer billing, and uninterrupted service delivery.
- Manage the submission of pricing data received from EKFC’s Pricing Department through airline-designated platforms (e.g., pricing sheets, online portals). Ensure completeness of data such as caterer codes, dish descriptions, pricing, and imagery for timely and accurate customer billing.
- Validate customer performance data in collaboration with IT to ensure accuracy of Business Intelligence dashboards, enabling data-driven insights and management reporting.
- Support the consolidation of annual capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements across departments and develop flight operation and meal count projections under the guidance of the AVP – Commercial (Airlines).
- Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, performance reports, and presentation materials to support commercial negotiations and internal management reviews.
- Oversee the central filing system for all airline-related documentation, including contracts, correspondence, pricing, and menu records to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
Job Context
The role functions as part of the Commercial & Services team and plays a vital role in ensuring the timely execution of customer-driven requirements. The position involves high-volume coordination, precise data handling, and effective communication with internal teams and airline representatives. It requires strong attention to detail, especially in submitting accurate prices and managing document broadcasts via Salesforce related to new menus, service updates, operational disruptions, and ad hoc airline requests.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (required)
- A background in Finance is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in airline catering, international business, or commercial business support roles
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Salesforce (preferred)
- Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude
- Analytical thinking with a high attention to detail and a zero-error mindset
- Ability to manage strict deadlines without compromising on quality
- Sound understanding of in-flight catering services and menu development processes (advantageous)
