Job description

Faststream is currently searching for an Assistant Line Manager to work with a global container shipping company in their Dubai office.

Role Overview :

  • Location : Dubai, UAE
  • Focus : P&L Responsibility for managed services for Container Vessels

Key Responsibilities :

  • Select ships with optimal intake and speed, ensuring efficiency in bunker consumption.
  • Monitor daily vessel speed and bunker consumption.
  • Negotiate terminal contracts, securing berth windows, discounts, and volume incentives.
  • Manage and resolve claims in consultation with the legal team.
  • Develop and refine trade routes based on market demand and supply conditions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to anticipate customer demand and analyse trade statistics.
  • Maintain high schedule integrity, ensuring seamless customer connections and timely updates.
  • Manage cargo space to maximise Net To Vessel returns.
  • Collaborate with marketing on customer selection and tender processes.
  • Implement rate adjustments in line with cost increases and market conditions.
  • Engage actively with key clients, especially during operational crises, ensuring strong relationships.
  • Continuously assess trade route viability and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new services, exploring solo ventures or consortium opportunities.
