Job description
Role Purpose

Responsible for survey assistant set up, and occasionally operating a range of specialized surveying equipment. The Assistant Land Surveyor is also responsible for acquiring and storing all as-built from site.

Key Accountabilities
  • Present survey work at site to the site engineer and site supervisor
  • Operate a range of specialized surveying equipment including totalisations, level machine, prisms and electronic distance measuring equipment
  • Arrange for the bench mark and reference’s point to be used at site
  • Report surveyor work progress to Sr. Land Surveyor on daily basis
  • Ensure work completion on time, and quality standards are maintained in accordance with all corporate policies and regulations
  • Ensure strict adherence of HSE policies and procedures set
  • Report HSE incidents/violations etc. to superiors on time
  • Strict adherence of legal requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 1+ year as a surveyor’s assistant. Formal degree is not necessary and on the job training can be provided
  • Should have the ability to operate under supervision
  • Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and communication skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize and work under pressure
  • Flexibility in order to adapt to varying and changing demands
  • Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including flexible working hours
