Role Purpose
Responsible for survey assistant set up, and occasionally operating a range of specialized surveying equipment. The Assistant Land Surveyor is also responsible for acquiring and storing all as-built from site.
Key Accountabilities
- Present survey work at site to the site engineer and site supervisor
- Operate a range of specialized surveying equipment including totalisations, level machine, prisms and electronic distance measuring equipment
- Arrange for the bench mark and reference’s point to be used at site
- Report surveyor work progress to Sr. Land Surveyor on daily basis
- Ensure work completion on time, and quality standards are maintained in accordance with all corporate policies and regulations
- Ensure strict adherence of HSE policies and procedures set
- Report HSE incidents/violations etc. to superiors on time
- Strict adherence of legal requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 1+ year as a surveyor’s assistant. Formal degree is not necessary and on the job training can be provided
- Should have the ability to operate under supervision
- Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and communication skills
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize and work under pressure
- Flexibility in order to adapt to varying and changing demands
- Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including flexible working hours
