JOB SUMMARY

Entry-level management position focused on supporting daily activities in Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry (if applicable). The role involves working with staff to clean and maintain guestrooms and public spaces, conducting inspections, and ensuring accountability for corrective actions. The position aims to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while managing the operating budget.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; 1 year of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area.

OR

Two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Business Administration, or a related major; no work experience required.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets

  • Ensure knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations are current.
  • Oversee all lost and found procedures.
  • Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned and prospective checkouts to prepare work assignments.
  • Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Communicate guest room status to the Front Desk promptly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on guest room maintenance needs.
  • Understand and adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Assist in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Manage linen inventory and guest supplies; assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Supervise Housekeeping and related areas in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide feedback; strive to improve service performance.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Handle guest problems and complaints, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
