Job description

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Front Office Department in Dubai, the Assistant Guest Services Manager is responsible for supervising the bell team, door team and valet to provide luxury service to all guests and colleagues. The Assistant Guest Services Manager will oversee the daily operation of all driveways, parking spaces are all well-coordinated, staffed, clean and always providing exceptional standards. Assistant Guest Services Manager reports to Chief Concierge.

As an Assistant Guest Services Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee daily departmental functions including scheduling, rosters, transportation logistics, and events to ensure smooth operations and exceptional outcomes for guests and staff.
  • Manage all bell, door, and valet services, ensure efficient use of hotel transport, and maintain adherence to safety, legal, and hygiene standards.
  • Track and report valet statistics, bellman and driver productivity, and luggage handling efficiency.
  • Promote teamwork, supervise daily operations, provide coaching and evaluations, and maintain open interdepartmental communication.
  • Uphold high service standards, respond to guest concerns, create memorable guest experiences, and assist with directions and local information.
  • Collaborate with Group Reservations and Front Office to efficiently manage group arrivals and in-house guest needs.

As an Assistant Guest Services Manager, we expect from you:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent); a degree or higher diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a 5-star hotel, including 2 years specifically in a luxury hotel Concierge role.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with working knowledge of systems like Alliants, ALICE, and Hotsos; UAE and hotel re-opening or renovation experience are advantageous.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to understand and meet diverse guest needs and expectations.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals from various backgrounds; fluent in English, with Arabic or other language skills considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, including mentoring and training skills, with the capability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
