Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Sales – UK & Europe is responsible for driving hotel revenue and market share growth from the UK and European markets. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with key travel trade partners, corporate clients, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) accounts. The position supports the Director of Sales in executing the overall sales strategy, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring consistent achievement of sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK & European travel landscape, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in hospitality sales.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow business from the UK and European markets.
- Manage and maintain relationships with key accounts, including travel agents, tour operators, corporate clients, and MICE partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and market segments to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct regular sales visits, roadshows, and participate in trade fairs and industry events.
- Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales to set and achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to adapt sales strategies.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g. Revenue, Marketing, Operations) to ensure alignment with sales efforts.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates.
- Support the development of promotional campaigns tailored for the UK and European markets.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in the CRM system.
- Ensure excellent client service and follow-up to maintain long-term relationships.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of proven sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on the UK and European markets.
- Strong network of contacts within the travel trade, corporate, and MICE segments in the region.
- Solid understanding of hotel sales processes, revenue strategies, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
- Experience representing hotel brands at trade shows, exhibitions, and client events.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required within the UK and Europe.
