Job Description

Strategic Sales Leadership Activities:

  • Ensure the sales department understands the importance and priority of its current account base, managing, segmenting, and prioritizing efforts accordingly.
  • Focus on establishing new client contacts and developing detailed revenue potential from these accounts.
  • Regularly review each account's actual performance against its potential, and continually upgrade the client base.
  • Assign responsibilities and targets for individual accounts, with ongoing review of these responsibilities.

Managing Daily Sales Activities:

  • Set and work towards financial and non-financial objectives for each team member.
  • Ensure new team members are well-oriented with the NH brand strategy and can articulate this in the marketplace.
  • Develop and ensure the team has effective face-to-face selling skills.
  • Manage team performance, identify skill gaps, and recommend training programs.

Overseeing Department Operations:

  • Maintain accurate reports on business results and action plans.
  • Ensure all sales staff stay informed about the hotel’s products, services, and promotions, as well as competitors’ offerings and industry trends.
  • Adhere to the operational budget, controlling costs and managing expenditures.
  • Participate in client trips, site inspections, sales trips, and roadshows to meet sales targets.
  • Create packages and promotions during low occupancy periods.
  • Coordinate effectively with operational colleagues to ensure service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell NH products.
  • Maintain proficiency with sales tools, property PMS, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ensure swift and efficient processing of administrative work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, technology, and distribution channels.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of regional and local markets, competitors, and events.
