The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and financial reporting standards. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and driving cost efficiency while maintaining the integrity of financial records.
What will I be doing?
The Assistant Director of Finance will support all activities performed by the Director of Finance, including but not limited to understanding and driving financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end closing activities, and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, the Uniform System of Accounts, and Hilton policies. Responsibilities include:
- Assuming departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Finance.
- Ensuring smooth operation of all hotel finance activities in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assisting in preparing and consolidating financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting with department heads.
- Monitoring daily accounting operations such as accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Preparing financial reports with variance analysis and recommendations for senior management.
- Coordinating audits and providing necessary documentation.
- Assisting in cash flow management and forecasting.
- Implementing financial systems or tools to enhance efficiency.
- Providing training and support to the finance team for development and succession planning.
- Acting as a financial advisor to operational departments to foster financial accountability.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA/ACCA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive finance experience in a luxury hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and create reports, forecasts, and projections.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive issue prevention.
