Assistant Director of Finance - Six Senses Dubai

Hotel: Dubai The Palm (DXBDP), Plot number PJCRC08_200

As Assistant Director of Finance, I support the efficient operation of the Finance department within Six Senses financial operating standards, in conjunction with the Director of Finance.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

• Establish and maintain effective management of the hotel’s accounting practices and provide a flow of financial information and reporting to all divisions and departments, the Home Office, and the owners.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and capital expenditure plan and monitor actual financial performance against the budget.
• Manage financial transactions, including approval of purchase requisitions and orders, payments, petty cash, payroll, audits, and other financial requests.
• Ensure internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with financial legislation and taxation requirements, and that financial, payroll, and information systems are effective.
• Respond promptly to audit issues and oversee required actions to address deficiencies.
• Continuously improve the financial function in line with Six Senses practices.
• Ensure purchasing practices meet the requirements of the Six Senses Sustainability & Eat With Six Senses platforms and guidelines.
• Undertake vendor/supplier vetting, stocktakes, and storage assessments to ensure stock is on hand, properly stored, and in line with Six Senses standards.
• Establish and deliver pre-established financial returns related to revenue generation, profitability, and ROIC.
• Operate the property in compliance with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communication standards, product and service standards, host management practices, and budgetary controls.

Qualifications

To succeed as Assistant Director of Finance, candidates should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• 4-8 years of experience in hotel accounting or audit, with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPA qualification preferred.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Previous experience in Dubai is preferred.
