Job summary

Dusit Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned Sales & Marketing professional to lead catering and group sales for the hotel, from event bookings to execution. You will prepare departmental budgets and forecasts, maintain client rapport before, during and after conferences, and collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to drive revenue and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management or a related discipline is required.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) are essential.
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a luxury/hospitality environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee catering and group sales from event bookings to execution.
• Prepare departmental budgets and forecasts with cost control measures.
• Build and maintain rapport with clients before, during and after conferences to encourage repeat business.
• Conduct site inspections and sales activities as required.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to prepare monthly forecasts.
• Develop the annual business and marketing plan for the department.
• Achieve banquet and catering budgets as outlined in the annual plan.
• Evaluate performance of Event Manager/Event Executive per HR policy and initiate improvements.
• Ensure sufficient departmental manpower aligned to business volume.
• Ensure staff are effective sales ambassadors for the hotel.
• Coach and train staff regularly to improve performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all catering and group sales in the hotel, from booking events to their execution
• To prepare departmental budget and forecasts, operating within set parameters, ensure effective cost control
• To establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, throughout and post-conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat business.
• Conduct site inspections and sales activities as required.
• To work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to prepare monthly forecasts
• To develop the annual business and marketing plan for the department
• Achieves Banquet and Catering budget set out in the yearly business plan for the hotel.
• Appraises performance of Event Manager / Event Executive periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiates appropriate corrective measures to improve deficiencies.
• Manages the department to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
• Ensures each staff is a good sales person to promote hotel’s image and businesses at all times.
• Coaches and counsels all staff especially the department and unit manages when applicable.
• Provides and supports the most effective training to all staff regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

REPORT LINE & COMMUNICATION

• Reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
• Coordinates with all concerned personnel to ensure that all activities are accomplished.
• Communicates effectively with guest, clients, business partners and staff.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management or relevant discipline
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a 5-star class environment
• Have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
• Have a positive attitude toward challenges and the drive to excel
• Possesses professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
