Job summary

GeneDx, a leader in precision medicine, is seeking a Clinical Genetic Counselor in Dubai to support interpretation of genetic findings and case management. You will collaborate with clinicians and laboratories to establish genotype-phenotype correlations and review reports to ensure accurate variant interpretation.

The role requires a Master’s in genetic counseling or related field, MD/DO with genetics expertise, and at least one year of clinical or lab experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in genetic counseling or related field.
• MD/DO with demonstrated human genetics expertise.
• At least one year of clinical or laboratory experience.
• Board-eligible status or ABGC certification for genetic counselors.

• Perform clinical data analysis and case management to interpret genetic findings.

• Investigate and interpret clinical features of genetic conditions using internal resources and professional tools.
• Review genetic test reports, interpret variants, and curate internal databases.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for designated genes, disorders, tests, and/or workflows.
• Participate in client services and communication via email, phone, or other channels.
• Perform literature reviews and database searches to support variant interpretation and classification.
• Abstract clinical information from patient records.

• Investigate and interpret clinical features of genetic conditions using internal resources and professional tools
• Review and edit genetic test reports, interpret variants, and curate internal databases
• Serve as a subject matter expert for designated genes, disorders, tests, and/or workflows
• Participate in client services and communication via email, phone, or other channels
• Perform literature reviews and database searches to support variant interpretation and classification
• Abstract clinical information from patient records

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program, or a Master’s/PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field
• MD/DO with demonstrated expertise in human genetics
• At least one year of prior clinical or laboratory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and internal systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Board-eligible status or active certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (for Genetic Counselors)
• Required licensure in the state where the employee works

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with variant curation
