An established industry player in hospitality is seeking a dedicated Chief Steward to enhance cleaning processes and support kitchen operations. This role involves managing cleaning equipment, assisting with banquet setups, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. POSITION SUMMARY
Direct and assist Stewards to make cleaning processes more efficient. Ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning and properly documented. Assist with banquet plateups and support kitchen staff with various tasks as needed. Provide necessary items to cooks, support banquet and buffet operations by transporting and maintaining adequate stock, and return cleaned items to proper locations. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dishwashers, hand wash stations, potscrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, communicate professionally, and develop positive working relationships. Ensure adherence to quality standards. Physically, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and navigate uneven or slippery surfaces. Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
