Job summary

Miral Experiences in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support the Food & Beverage Department, ensuring smooth operations, managing scheduling of kitchen attendants and maintaining hygienic conditions. You will assist the Chief Steward with inventory and requisitions, clean kitchens, and help uphold Farah’s Values and UAE safety policies.

Strong English, teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• 1-2 years in same role or 4 years as Steward/kitchen helper in a five-star hotel or similar.
• Good English written and spoken.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and leadership skills.
• Solid problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Display a friendly, helpful attitude with guests and colleagues to support Farah Strategy and Values.
• Represent Farah positively to stakeholders at all times.
• Help achieve department and company objectives and KPIs.
• Enforce UAE laws, Health, Safety & Environmental policies; report safety concerns or incidents.
• Adhere to emergency procedures and assist in evacuations if needed.
• Clean kitchens and order kitchen cleaning supplies.
• Maintain inventory of crockeries and cutleries for all kitchens.
• Assist in preparing and posting weekly stewarding schedules.
• Support the F&B Culinary Philosophy and Farah’s values.

About the Role

To ensure a smooth and efficient operation in the Food & Beverage Department in relation to the Company Core Process; thus directly impacting the delivery of the experience. This position manages scheduling of all kitchen attendants and works in the outlets to check hygienic conditions. Assists Chief Steward with inventory and requisitions.

Key Responsibilities

• To display a friendly, helpful and cheerful attitude while communicating effectively with our Guests and fellow Colleagues in order to support Farah Strategy and Values
• To represent and promote Farah in a positive manner at all times in order to maintain a professional brand image to all concerned stakeholders
• To help achieve Department and Company objectives, action plans and key performance indicators
• To enforce and adhere to all UAE laws, Health, Safety & Environmental policies, industry and company rules and regulations, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to management in order to minimize risk and maintain a clean safe and hygienic environment for all Guests and Colleagues
• Adhere to all emergency procedures, ensuring Guest safety and participate in an evacuation if necessary
• To clean kitchen
• To order kitchen cleaning supplies
• To maintain the inventory of all crockeries and cutleries for all the kitchens by monitoring and communicating with the kitchen brigade and Colleagues
• To assist in the preparation and post weekly work schedules for stewarding Colleagues, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicator
• To support the implementation of the F&B Culinary Philosophy, demonstrating and reinforcing Farah’s Values and Culture Characteristics

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years' same role or 4 years as Steward/kitchen helper in Five Star Hotel or similar
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work well with others as a team member
• Good English skills both written and verbal
• Good attention to detail
• Leadership skills
• Problem solving skills

Desirable

• College Diploma in food services or culinary arts
• 3-4 years’ experience as Assistant Chief Steward
• Soft Skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
