Job description

Position Title - Assistant Buyer - Ladies Footwear

Location - Dubai

The role provides analytical and operational support for enabling effective running of activities related to the department. It is an individual contributor role with responsibilities including support in range building, product development, strategy, monitoring the fashion market, and customer activity.

  1. Assist the buyer/senior buyer in costing negotiation with suppliers and ensure margin targets are met.
  2. Work with the buyer/senior buyer to formulate clear seasonal strategies through in-season and post-season review analysis.
  3. Assist in creating seasonal range plans and buy plans.
  4. Collaborate closely with the buyer and design team for product development.
  5. Support product development with design, manage vendors, finalize tech packs, and select suppliers.
  6. Work with the buyer/senior buyer to finalize samples and ranges for laydown.
  7. Communicate requirements, pricing, packaging, and compliance with suppliers.
  8. Coordinate with the merchandiser on approvals, fits, overall look, sample management, critical path, vendors, and logistics.
  9. Manage PLM data entry, comments, and price negotiations seamlessly.
  10. Analyze weekly sales reports, product performance, stock levels, UDA analysis, and recommend trade actions.
  11. Collaborate with VM, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams for product launches and quality management.
  12. Conduct market research by tracking competitors and inspiration brands to identify opportunities and risks, and suggest mitigation strategies.
  13. Perform any other duties assigned by the buyer/senior buyer or department head to ensure smooth department operations.
