A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Conducting effective shift briefings to inform staff about VIPs, special occasions, daily specials, and upselling opportunities.
- Encouraging and motivating staff to provide excellent service during all shifts.
- Sharing guest feedback with the Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to reflect customer preferences.
- Working with your superior on manpower planning and management.
- Ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards.
- Communicating the resort’s performance in guest satisfaction to your team.
- Assisting guests with inquiries and complaints to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Responding promptly and courteously to guest requests, and following up to ensure satisfaction.
- Encouraging guest feedback to improve service quality.
- Adhering to billing procedures and managing costs effectively.
- Monitoring market trends and reviewing operations accordingly.
- Conducting competitor analysis and creating publicity opportunities.
- Upselling property facilities and actively pursuing cost-saving measures.
- Liaising with the Sales Manager during tenders to secure new accounts, specifically for Food & Beverage.
- Managing wages, beverage costs, and conducting forecasting and stock control.
- Analyzing food and beverage statistics via the point of sale system.
- Assisting in the preparation and management of the department’s budget.
Responsible business
- Implementing standards as per departmental procedures.
- Following opening and closing procedures.
- Developing and executing Promotions Calendar for F&B products.
- Managing special event concepts and customer databases.
- Executing banquet function orders and supervising banquet staff during events.
- Ensuring high-quality banquet operations in accordance with hotel standards.
- Coordinating with involved departments for event preparations.
- Following up on functions to ensure flawless execution.
- Welcoming and bidding farewell to guests and organizers.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Posting revenues and managing billing processes.
- Supervising service during events to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensuring compliance with FLS legislation and maintaining personal and team safety.
What we need from you:
- Completion of a Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field, or equivalent experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move about the restaurant, and handle food and utensils.
Other requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, and third parties.
- Proficiency in reading and writing for paperwork, reports, and instructions.
- Problem-solving, organizational, and training skills.
- Relevant certifications such as alcohol awareness or food handler permits as required by local authorities.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
