Job summary

Zayed University invites applications for Arabic Language for professorial faculty within the General Education Programme. We seek candidates who can teach semi specialized Arabic classes, Arabic communication skills labs for native Arabic speakers, and novice to advanced levels for non-native speakers. There are multiple positions available across both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses.

The expected start date is August 2026. Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Modern Standard Arabic at university level is required.

• Experience with international or bilingual teaching environments is a plus.

Qualifications

As a faculty member, you will provide best-practice, non-lecture, practical and hands‑on instruction in an engaging learning environment, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies to enhance our student's learning experience and achieve learning outcomes. Ideal candidate will possess :

• A PH.D. degree in Arabic Language and Literature, TAFL, Second language acquisition, or Applied Linguistics that is or can be equalized by the UAE Ministry of Education. A combination Arabic language, technology, and arts (music, visual arts, gaming), would be desirable.
• Experience teaching Modern Standard Arabic at the university level and developing pedagogical materials and incorporating active learning pedagogy into the curriculum.
• Experience in teaching university level non-native learners. Consideration will be given to faculty who have experience in international or bilingual environments.
• Training in ACTFL or CEFR proficiency guidelines and experience in foreign language proficiency‑based instruction, preferably with a rater or tester certification.
• Knowledge of current teaching methodologies and best practices including” Active learning” in the classroom and experience utilizing advanced classroom technologies.
