Job summary

Zayed University’s College of Interdisciplinary Studies in the UAE seeks qualified faculty to teach Computational Systems courses at Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses starting January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver AI, ML/DL, DS, Applied Math, and Computational Mathematics courses, using active learning to engage students online and on campus.

• PhD in AI, CS, CS Eng, Computational Mathematics or related field recognized by UAE MOE.
• Minimum 3 years of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience in AI/ML/DL or DS.
• Experience with Python, R, MATLAB and ML frameworks.
• Demonstrated active learning experience in higher education.
• Experience leading capstone projects or industry partnerships and supervising students.
• Must hold a valid UAE residency visa.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses online and on-campus at Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses.
• Deliver AI/ML/DL, DS, and other core CS subjects with active learning.
• Mentor students and engage in scholarly activities.
• Contribute to inclusive learning environment.

Description

The College of Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) seeks qualified candidates to teach courses in the Computational Systems (CS) department on their Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses starting January 2027.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence at baccalaureate-level teaching. Faculty will be responsible for teaching courses related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Digital Security (DS), Applied Math, Computational Mathematics, and other core CS subjects. CIS follows an active learning pedagogy and faculty are expected to engage students in creative thinking, foster critical thinking and mentor them in their academic and professional development. Additionally, the faculty will demonstrate professional and scholarly accomplishment appropriate to their rank, and they will be expected to contribute to scholarly activities and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Courses are taught online and on-campus and faculty members meet course coordinators regularly to ensure consistent course delivery across sections.

Qualifications

Applications are invited from candidates that MUST have the following:

• PhD in AI, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computational Mathematics, or a related field that is or can be recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education.
• A minimum of 3 years of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience with a focus on AI, ML/DL, or DS.
• Experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Demonstrable and applied active learning experience in teaching higher-education courses.
• Experience in leading capstone projects or industry partnerships and student supervision.
• Must hold a valid UAE residency visa.
