Assistant Accountant

SELECTED is working with a retail business that is looking to hire an Assistant Accountant to support its growing finance team in Dubai. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of day-to-day accounting processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with bookkeeping tasks including invoice postings, prepayments, depreciation, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations

• Support the monthly closing process with entries related to retail and e-commerce accounting

• Help maintain accurate reconciliations with vendors

• Organise and prepare documentation for payment processing and ensure proper filing of invoices

• Update and maintain supplier databases,

• Monitor shipping document compliance for VAT and maintain insurance records

• Support audit preparation and provide required financial documentation to auditors

Key requirements:

• Degree in Finance or Accounting

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting position

• Strong understanding of accounting processes and entries

• Advanced Excel skills

• Highly organised and motivated with excellent attention to detail
