Job summary

Duncan & Ross is seeking a senior Masterplanner in Dubai to lead planning coordination for large-scale residential and mixed-use developments. You will guide masterplan delivery from concept through authority approvals, coordinating with architects, engineers, and urban design teams.

You will review submissions, develop land use strategies, and ensure compliance with local regulations while maintaining the project’s vision, quality, and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 14 years of masterplanning experience in residential and/or mixed-use real estate projects.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale masterplanned communities from concept through authority approvals and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, land use, zoning, infrastructure coordination and development control requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, design teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of local authority approval processes and development regulations.
  • Excellent project coordination, planning, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Masterplan Manager in planning coordination and delivery of residential and mixed-use masterplans.
  • Assist in preparation, review and implementation of masterplans, land use strategies, development frameworks and urban design guidelines.
  • Coordinate with architects, urban planners, landscape architects, infrastructure and engineering consultants for integrated solutions.
  • Review masterplan submissions, technical reports and consultant deliverables for compliance with objectives and quality standards.
  • Support the design process from concept planning through detailed planning and authority approvals.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, consultants and government authorities to facilitate approvals and progress.
  • Assist in site assessments, feasibility studies and due diligence.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and consultant performance to ensure timely execution.
  • Identify planning and design risks and support mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical support through all project phases.
  • Prepare project reports, presentations, updates and executive summaries for senior management.
  • Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining the masterplan vision and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with local planning regulations, zoning requirements and sustainability standards.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Urban Planning Architecture Urban Design Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in masterplanning with significant experience in residential and mixed-use real estate development projects.
  • Proven experience supporting the delivery of large-scale masterplanned communities from concept development through authority approvals and project implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles land use planning zoning regulations infrastructure coordination and development control requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants design teams and project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of local authority approval processes and development regulations.
  • Excellent project coordination planning analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication presentation negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office AutoCAD GIS Revit and project management software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable urban development practices and smart city planning principles is an advantage.
  • Professional membership in a recognized planning architecture or engineering organization is considered an advantage.
