About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Assets Controller to manage and safeguard our company's assets across all departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an accurate asset register, ensuring policy compliance, and optimizing asset utilization to prevent loss, theft, or mismanagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date asset register/database.
  2. Tag and track all company assets to ensure accurate monitoring and security.
  3. Record all asset transactions including acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.
  4. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal asset management policies.
  5. Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT, and operations for accurate recording and updates.
  6. Conduct physical verification, audits, and reconciliations of company assets.
  7. Monitor asset depreciation and generate accurate financial reports.
  8. Coordinate asset disposal and retirement processes with proper documentation.
  9. Support vendor coordination for leased, rented, or newly installed assets.
  10. Work with maintenance teams to plan routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  11. Ensure high-value assets are insured and manage insurance claims if necessary.
  12. Contribute to risk mitigation and disaster recovery planning for critical assets.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all asset-related data.
  14. Train relevant staff on asset management processes and policy adherence.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in asset management or a similar financial role.
  3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and asset tracking best practices.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and asset management software/tools.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  6. Effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
