Job summary

Dhaba in Abu Dhabi is recruiting motivated Commis Chefs for its pre-opening team. You will rotate across tandoor, curries, cold kitchen and pastry, learning recipes, techniques and standards under the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in a professional kitchen; India cuisine experience is a plus. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is expected as part of a fast-paced kitchen environment in a premier project by ALDAR.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen.
• Experience in Indian cuisine is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills and kitchen hygiene.
• Culinary qualification preferred.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to take direction.
• Reliable team player who stays calm in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mise en place for your assigned section before every service.
• Cook and plate dishes to Dhaba recipes, portions and presentation standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie during service and follow instructions accurately.
• Receive, label and store deliveries correctly, following stock rotation (FIFO).
• Follow HACCP and food safety standards at all times.
• Keep your station, equipment and storage areas clean and organised.
• Rotate between sections as required to build your skills.
• Report shortages or equipment issues to your Chef de Partie.
