Job summary

NAFFCO is seeking a Design Manager – ARFF Vehicles to lead the vehicle design team, delivering compliant, manufacturable ARFF vehicle concepts and product releases. The role requires coordination with chassis, systems engineering, procurement and manufacturing to meet schedules, cost and quality targets.

The successful candidate will guide design activities across concept through release, manage DRs/CDR, and ensure rigorous documentation and ISO-aligned engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 7+ years in vehicle body or automotive design.
• 3+ years in design leadership or management.
• Experience with PLM and CAD tools (Teamcenter, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of ISO standards and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the ARFF vehicle design team with technical direction.
• Define and approve vehicle architecture and system integration.
• Review engineering deliverables (3D models, 2D drawings, BOM).
• Own the design review process (DRs, PDR/CDR) and configuration control.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain on components and cost optimization.
• Support prototype build, testing and continuous improvement.
• Generate regular reports on design status and risks.
