Our client, a major shipping company is looking to hire an Area Manager on a 4 - 6 months contract.
Mission: Reporting to Trade Manager team at the regional office, to manage the Trade activity of
the company in the region, with a special focus on the exports for the defined scope within.
Responsibilities:
Scope: Africa
• You will have to ensure that the company is well positioned on this trade in term of
service and pricing, and you will bring the necessary proposals to improve the
positioning of the group on the said trades.
• The Trade Coordinator will be the link between the agency network in the region and
the line management in Head Office and will have to establish a regular communication
with the involved point of contact at Head Office to make sure that the policy of the line is well
established within the allocated agency network.
• Daily/weekly/monthly performance monitoring and analysis of the involved services
both in term of volume and profitability.
• Animation of the agency network’s Sales team based on allocations that you will have
set up in advance with the line management.
• Customer visits together with agents are not a core activity of this position but
nevertheless, it’s very important from time to time stay close to the reality of the
activity, and better understand agents & customer needs.
• Overseas missions might be considered as well in case of specific needs.
• Forecast consolidation to line cargo flow: daily forecasts consolidation + establish
cargo cut list in case of cargo overflow.
