Job description

Job Overview

The architectural assistant is responsible for interior design work including engineering and architectural design coordination. The role will be to take concept design through to construction drawings tender documentation and ward of contract, as well as technical evaluation of contractor’s submittals during the construction process. The architect must be computer literate in AutoCAD and capable of producing quality hand-drawn sketches and/or computer drawn 3D sketches to illustrate design ideas. Communication and liaison skills are essential qualities applicable throughout the project. Municipal/government experience, client management, client business development will be highly regarded. The architect will be an experienced team worker with proven track record of coordinating a multi-disciplinary design team with minimal supervision. From time to time the interior designer will also be required to document his/her own projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant recognized design qualification. Architectural may be considered.
• 3-5 years professional experience post qualification.

• Have a flair for creating conceptual designs.
• Capable of producing quality 3D renderings to illustrate design ideas.
• Be aware of current trends in interior design, and be enthusiastic and passionate about design.
• Experienced in dealing with relevant authorities to obtain approvals.
• Be energetic, pro-active and a natural creative individual.
• Ideally worked with reputed international consultant practices.
• Preferably a member of relevant professional industry association.
• Well organized creative individual with ability to think outside the box.
