Job summary

HDR is seeking an Architect - Technical to lead architectural design, BIM modeling, and document production for complex facility projects in the United Arab Emirates. You will coordinate with structures, MEP, and civil teams, and contribute to multi-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Registered Architect.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and related tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, documentation, and coordination of data center and other complex facility projects.
• Perform architectural assignments applying standards and procedures to project delivery.
• Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit per standards.
• Produce drawings, schedules, and construction documentation from BIM models.
• Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, civil, and other disciplines.
• Participate in BIM coordination activities and resolve design clashes.
• Support envelope, façade, interior layout, and space planning.
• Prepare architectural reports, specs, schedules, and documentation.
• Support quality reviews and client meetings as required.
• Work with teams across offices and locations.
• Take responsibility for project phases as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Architect - Technical, we'll count on you to:

• Support the planning, design, documentation, and coordination of data center, mission-critical, and other complex facility projects.
• Perform technical architectural assignments and apply architectural standards, techniques, and procedures to project delivery.
• Develop and maintain architectural BIM models using Autodesk Revit in accordance with project and BIM standards.
• Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, details, and construction documentation from BIM models.
• Coordinate architectural models and documentation with structural, MEP, civil, and specialist disciplines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary BIM coordination activities and assist in resolving design conflicts and clashes.
• Support building envelope, façade, interior layout, and space-planning activities.
• Prepare architectural reports, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Support quality reviews, drawing reviews, and compliance checks.
• Participate in internal design reviews, coordination meetings, client meetings, and project workshops as required.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across different offices and locations.
• Take responsibility for phases of individual projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
• A minimum of 6 years related industry experience
• Registered Architect
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, or other technically complex building projects
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Navisworks, or similar coordination platforms
• Working knowledge of BIM coordination and clash-detection workflows
• Understanding of building codes, life-safety principles, and construction documentation
