Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate ARC welding equipment, ensuring that all tools are calibrated for precision work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications.
- Select appropriate welding materials, including rods and wires, based on the specific project needs.
- Perform welding tasks on various materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals, to create strong, durable joints.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and adherence to safety standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely after use.
- Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues on-site.
- Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear to minimize hazards during welding operations.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest welding techniques and industry standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; additional technical training in welding is preferred.
- Certification in ARC welding from a recognized institution is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or construction setting is required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints is essential.
- Ability to operate various welding machines and tools, including automatic and semi-automatic equipment.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and the properties of various metals.
