Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
• Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Write behavior support plans, collect data and conduct functional assessments, communicate with teachers, parents, family members and caregivers, working with clients one‑on‑one or in a group in a home or center setting.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
• Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst BCBA.
• Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
• Assume Lead Behavioral Technician responsibilities in their absence.
• Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, ABA Interns, and co‑workers.
• Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable precautions for environmental safety, infection control, using a series of interventions that minimize or prevent cross infection.
• Maintaining and assisting in enforcing the strictest confidence in relation to patient information whether formally or informally recorded.
• Complying and ensuring that those directly supervised comply with occupational health and safety at work policies and procedures.
• Assisting in the planning and developing policies that guide the service implementation process.
• Practicing within the expressed limits of established policies and procedures.
• Ensuring that SOP (standard operation procedures) and Quality Assurance tests are maintained within all sections.
• Participating in training and education sessions for department staff, doctors and nurses. teaching, induction, peer review, case studies, and clinical presentations.
• Participating in department programs/committees, various hospital committees, and staff meetings.
• Ensuring appropriate internal and external sharing of information based on governing policies and procedures.
• Maintaining professional knowledge by attending lectures, seminars or on‑line education units.
• Completing and maintaining all regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frames.
• Ensuring all members of the department receive adequate clinical supervision as required for their professional and technical development.
