To heighten the focus on machining solutions within the Middle East region, we are looking for an Application Specialist for Coromant to be based in Dubai.

As an Application Specialist, you work as a technical expert to support the sales team for total solution offer to customers and you fulfill the technical solution delivery that meets the customer’s needs by

• Fulfilling and delivering expertise in relevant technical product and application solution to customers and supports Account Managers, either on site or remotely, to maximize and extend business opportunities within specific scopes of competencies.
• Holding responsibility for ensuring Sandvik Coromant products are correctly implemented and deployed to ensure they are as well secured to minimize competitor conversion and customers gain the maximum impact of utilizing Sandvik Coromant tools and technology.
• Supporting Account Managers in technical presentations and customer interactions to ensure suitable business opportunities are identified and secured for Sandvik Coromant, whether analogue or digital.

Your responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include the below:

• Build effective working relationships with end customers and distributors to secure agreed priorities implementation.
• Support Sales activities including analysis of customer’s technical needs and suggest and implements solutions.
• Proactively support cross functional working to deliver results.
• Act as an ambassador for driving new ways of working and future technology within their field of expertise to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled and profitable business is gained for Sandvik Coromant.
• Be accountable for ensuring successful opportunities are identified by Account Managers or others are qualified and as appropriate products are technically applied in a first-class manner to maximize Sandvik Coromant’s market share and profitable business.
• Document applied products and services performance and savings, whether successful or unsuccessful to ensure Sandvik Coromant can develop and deliver the most competitive products in the market.
• Lead customer projects from start to finish together with Account Manager.
• Ensure post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and conducting trainings required.
• Liaise with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure that products and services are modified, configured, and installed per customer needs.
• Work in matrix to ensure technical alignment between customers, sales Account Managers and internal departments.
• Monitors competitors’ landscape and alternative solutions that can jeopardize business in the area.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for someone with a solid background in sales with at least 5 years of experience and a technical knowledge in advance metal cutting tools and methods. You will need to travel extensively for this role within the Middle East region and may be required to travel occasionally to other Sales Regions.

You have a proven track record in delivering good business results and are highly competent with CAD/CAM. Project management skills and previous sales experience are essential, along with managing customer relationships. You will have a degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or a related field.
