Application Engineer (Pumps & Valves)

Our client, a trading company specializing in valves, pumps, and various mechanical products, is currently seeking a motivated Application Engineer to join their sales department and contribute to our continued success.

Job Overview:

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager and collaborating with senior management, the Application Engineer will play a vital role in sales coordination, managing processes from receipt of inquiries to the submission of commercial offers and technical submittals. This position is essential for ensuring operational efficiency and delivering excellent service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quotations:
2. Prepare detailed and accurate quotations based on specifications provided by sales engineers.
3. Generate comprehensive analytical reports related to prepared quotations for management review.
4. Organize and maintain a systematic filing system for all quotations and associated documentation.
5. Update and manage the quotations database, ensuring accurate and timely records are maintained.
6. Provide insightful assistance to sales engineers regarding item specifications and pricing.
7. Serve as the primary contact for customers in the absence of sales engineers, addressing inquiries as needed.
8. Manage incoming inquiries via telephone, providing necessary information to prospective clients.
9. Develop and prepare technical submittals, including but not limited to technical data sheets, material schedules, compliance statements, and product data sheets tailored to project specifications.
10. Conduct selection of pumps, valves, and control valves based on client-provided flow rates and detailed project requirements.
11. Prepare sample boards in accordance with the specifications outlined in the technical submittals.
12. Collaborate with management to address any consultant comments and ensure compliance with project standards.
13. Maintain an up-to-date database reflecting the status of all technical submittals.
14. Prepare periodic reports for management that summarize technical submittal activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience (5 years) in application engineering or sales coordination, preferably in the mechanical products sector.
• Strong understanding of valve and technical specifications related to client projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in managing databases and technical documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks.
