Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer specializing in Commercial Refrigeration to join our team in ME based in Dubai. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert supporting sales teams, customers, and product development efforts. Your main responsibility will be to provide technical solutions, application support, and system design expertise to ensure customer satisfaction and optimal product performance in diverse commercial refrigeration applications, such as supermarkets, convenience stores, cold storage, and food service environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support to sales teams, field engineers, distributors, and end-users for commercial refrigeration systems and components.
• Review customer specifications and project requirements to design refrigeration solutions including load calculations, equipment selection, and piping schematics.
• Prepare accurate project quotations by selecting and configuring appropriate refrigeration equipment and materials.
• Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in refrigeration technologies such as natural refrigerants and low-GWP alternatives.
• Coordinate with internal teams to develop detailed system layouts and technical submittals required for execution.
• Support sales by following up on quotations, providing technical clarifications, and assisting with commercial negotiations.
• Process confirmed jobs in the ERP system, initiate procurement, and track project documentation and material flow.
• Act as the single point of contact for all project matters, coordinating across customers, suppliers, logistics, finance, service teams, and factories.
• Liaise with supervisors and subcontractors to ensure installations are completed on time, within scope, and to the expected quality standards.
• Monitor and control project costs through ERP, regularly updating project status in terms of delivery, completion, and financial metrics.
• Notify the finance team to initiate invoicing after confirming bookings and accruals; follow up on Letters of Credit and customer payments.
• Report project status to sales and management, and escalate issues as needed to avoid delays or cost overruns.
• Coordinate with the logistics team for timely delivery of imported equipment and procurement of local installation materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC&R, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration or application engineering roles.
• Strong technical understanding of refrigeration systems, including thermodynamics, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Proficient in using AutoCAD or SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suite, and system design or load calculation software.
• Familiar with regional refrigeration codes and standards, and experienced with natural refrigerants like CO₂, R404A/R448, and hydrocarbons.
• Valid UAE driving license, willing to travel 20–30% for site support and customer visits.
• Gulf region experience is a strong advantage.
