Job summary

Miral Experiences in Abu Dhabi is seeking a professional Character Animator to perform in meet-and-greets and shows, maintaining high quality across sets and stages of all scales.

The role requires solo and group performances, strong English, and the ability to learn choreography, work in a team, and stay fit in full costume. You will follow HSE procedures and support backstage operations across Miral parks and events.

Responsibilities

• Perform all shows/sets as per leadership-defined schedule.
• Work as a Character Attendant; handle set and crowd control.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings required by Miral.
• Be backstage ready for performance at scheduled standby time.
• Participate in warm-up sessions, rehearsals and cleaning as required.
• Care for costumes, shoes, and props; avoid damage.
• Report damaged costumes or props to leadership immediately.
• Follow policies including dress code and social media behavior.
• Observe behavioural competencies when interacting with others.
• Adhere to facilities guidelines for rides, restaurants, and entrances/exits.
• Participate in job performance evaluations as defined by leadership.
• Be prepared to work across Miral parks, properties and events.

Job description

• Performs as a Character Animator in both meet and greets and shows
• Maintains high quality of performance in all shows/sets performed
• Comfortable performing both solo and in groups
• Comfortable performing on stages of all scales including moving parts
• Showcases and maintains consistent performance as per their character training and show rehearsals
• Prioritizes and maintains personal health and fitness standards

HSE

• Plans and executes personal warm-ups to ensure readiness for performances and safety standards are met
• Reports illness or injury to leadership team immediately, following HSE procedures at all times

Entertainment Operations

• Performs all shows/sets as per schedule defined by leadership
• Works as a Character Attendant; operationally handling the set and crowd control
• Attends all mandatory meetings and training required by Miral
• Assures call-times are observed and is backstage ready for performance at scheduled standby time, prior to show/set start.
• Takes part in warm-up sessions, rehearsals and cleaning sessions as required
• Takes proper and professional care of all costume pieces, shoes, undergarments and props and does not engage in any activities that may harm or damage the costumes, props or uniforms
• Reports any damaged costumes or props to the leadership team immediately
• Follows all company policies and procedures, including dress code, social media and behavior expectations in line with Miral's code of conduct
• Observes the company's behavioral competencies when interacting with others
• Adheres to company guidelines when using any facilities, including but not limited to rides, restaurants, retail shops, entrances and exits and smoking areas
• Participates in job performance evaluations, to be given by leadership as defined by Miral
• Understands that this position includes, but is not limited to, the aforementioned and that the Animator is to work as directed across all Miral parks, properties and events, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Higher secondary or equivalent
• Previous professional stage/performance experience
• Physical aptitude: strength to move when wearing full body costume character
• Ability to learn and execute choreography
• Proficiency in English and ability to speak in front of groups
• Capability to maintain positive attitude under a variety of circumstances
• Works well in a team environment
• Eager to learn new skills and multiple roles

Desirable

• Professional training in Arts/theatre/dance
• 2 years of professional stage/performance experience
• Theme Park entertainment experience
• Experience performing in Animated Mascot costumes
• Experience in customer service
