A leading company in wildlife management is seeking an Animal Curator to coordinate daily animal care and management at their facility. The successful candidate will oversee staff, implement safety protocols, and contribute to the overall welfare of the animals. This role requires extensive experience in animal care, effective communication, and a commitment to wildlife conservation.

Coordinate& supervise daily animal management and zoo staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to
1-Coordinateand oversee animals’ management of EPZ.
2-Supportthe function of animal collection supervisor by undertaking additional dutiesas required.
3-Directlycontribute to all aspects of animal care, including husbandry routines andenvironmental enrichment, and supporting veterinary intervention as required.
4-Overseeingnutrition requirement for animals’ collections throughout overseeing food preparation,distribution and collecting feedback from supervisors and working in thatclosely with veterinary department.
5-Support the goals of EPZ departments’collection plan, strategic and Master Plan of EPZ.
6-Maintain the highest level of health and safetyin the work area through implementation of safety protocols and procedures toensure safety of visitors, staff and animal.
7-Contribute, Maintain & update riskassessments for each section.
8-Implement & monitor designated bio-security,health and safety policy closely with veterinary. Department.
9-Undertake and maintain records of animal& enclosure security checks.
10-Manage staff works schedule withsupervisors.
11-Following up enclosures maintenancerequest.
12-Participate in Zoo Keepers appraisals.
13-Advise & supervise animal collection supervisorsand zoo keepers, volunteers, trainee, internship to provide support, guidanceand skills development.
14-Maintain understanding of Ethical,Population Management, and Animal Welfare policies.
15-Maintain understanding of emergencyprocedures - practice and enact as required Communications.
16-Share relevant information &disseminate organizational news & updates to the team.
17-Improve knowledge of animal biology andmanagement, including observations & record keeping, supporting andparticipating in zoological research if needed.
18-Tasks may include heavy manual andskilled work such as moving and manipulating heavy food items, hoses, bales ofhay, equipment and crated animals.
19-Support and participate in media andmarketing initiatives to encourage public understanding of animals and promoteEPZ mission as per requested.
20-Prepare for & attend regular sectionor departmental meetings / undertake agreed actions Animal management approvedby zoo manager.
21-Participate in pest control plan and execution.
22-Assistzoo manager as required.
23-Generates work requests and coordinatescompletion.
24-Oversees/coordinate animal introductions,moves, restraints, and shipments.
25-Regularly inspects and observes assignedcollection for overall welfare.
26-Trains and coaches staff regarding mediacontact, conflict resolution, and appropriate guest and customer relations.
27-Visitor’s interactions includingscheduled on-ground talks to our guests, answers visitors' questions concerninganimals' habits.
28-Participate in required lectures,seminars, and workshops as part of the job.
29-Provide on job training for keepers.
30-Prepare reports as required by linemanager.
31-Inspect animals to detect illnesses andinjuries and notifies vet department of findings.
32-Handling, Captures and restrains animal.
33-Participates in establishing animalcollection plan, studbooks, identification, surplus list and record keeping to ensuresaccurate and complete records of animal activities.
34-Actively foster constructive attitudesand a team orientation among staff.
35-May assist vets in treatment of animalsfor illnesses and injuries.
36-Any other relevant duties assigned by zoomanager.

Qualifications/Experience:
1-Zoology degree, BVSC or relatedfield is preferred.
2-At least 7 years of prioranimal care experience at a controlled environment facility.
3-Good communication skills, anenthusiasm for interacting with the public and a willingness to give regulartalks to visitors, special groups, etc.
4-Must be able to function as a team member andsupport zoo’s mission
5-Must be dependable anddemonstrate flexibility regarding work schedules.
6-Must be willing to workweekends and holidays and some evening events.
7-Must be able to work outdoorsin inclement weather.
8-English is must, Arabic ispreferred.
9-Must be willing to work withdifferent cultures and nationalities.
10-Must be able to performstrenuous work and lift at least 50 KG repetitively, bending, lifting etc.
11-Good judgment in evaluatingsituations and making decisions.
12-Exemplifies the higheststandard of work ethics.
