Job summary

Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital recruiting a Specialist in Anesthesia to deliver high-quality perioperative care for surgical and diagnostic procedures. The role covers pre-anesthetic assessment, anesthesia administration, intraoperative monitoring, and post-anesthesia care with pain management and emergency response.

Candidates should hold MBBS/MBChB or equivalent, a recognised specialty in Anesthesiology, and a DOH licence or eligibility.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Completion of a recognised specialty qualification in Anesthesiology.
• DOH Licence or Eligibility as Specialist Anesthesia.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years post-specialty experience as an Anesthesia Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and risk assessment.
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans.
• Administer general, regional, local anesthesia or monitored care.
• Monitor physiological status intraoperatively and respond to changes.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and manage pain control.
• Participate in emergency response and critical care as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, intensivists and allied staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold DOH standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and patient safety programs.

Education

MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical degree

Recognition of specialty in Anesthesiology

DOH Licence or Eligibility as Specialist Anesthesia

Basic life support (BLS) & Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)

Post-specialty qualification experience (2+ years)
