Job Summary
• Credit Structuring is part of the Global Structuring team in SCB's Markets division, providing global coverage of the full spectrum of Credit and Interest Rates Derivatives, through our network of product specialists located across markets
• The Africa and Middle East ("AME") Markets Structuring team is responsible for delivering structured products and solutions across our client base in the region across structured hedging, investments and financing
• This role is an Associate or Associate Director (depending on experience) within the AME Credit Structuring team
• As an Associate you will work closely with Sales, Trading, Legal and other control functions to structure and execute bespoke credit transactions in a variety of formats such as Total Return Swaps (TRS), Credit Derivative Solutions (CDS), Repos, cross currency swaps and margin loans.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
• Provide support to senior structurers in delivering structured Credit business across both Africa and the Middle East
• Work closely with Sales to design and execute financing transactions typically serving as an alternative to traditional capital markets
• Work closely with Trading teams in Macro Trading, Structured Credit Trading, Equity Financing & Derivatives to deliver financing and investment solutions that meet SCB's capital, legal and return requirements.
• Cover a variety of clients, including Banks, Central Banks, Corporates and Sovereigns and understand their financing and liquidity needs.
• Draft transaction documents for various products and derivatives, such as CDS, TRS, Repo, structured cross currency swaps, Special Pupose Vehicle (SPV) notes based on master agreements.

Business
• Help build Product and Client Structuring business regionally and ensure the continuing growth and stability of the business
• Work with respective FM Product teams and relevant Regional/Country Heads, identify the initiatives needed to grow the Credit Structuring business on a short, medium and long-term basis
• Help to build good working partnerships between CIB teams, Product teams and FM sales teams in the region in order to provide a seamless and coordinated interface to our Clients in delivering our structured credit products and services
• Work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver new product capabilities to enhance efficiency and expansion of the business

Risk Management
• Enforce a culture of risk management and ensure that the teams comply with the risk management processes in place
• Provide impartial guidance of matters of product / client appropriateness and suitability.
• Discourage transactions with unmanageable market risk profiles.
• Ensure that adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in place to comply with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, Compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation
• Escalate any risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, carry out remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting.
• Protect the stability, long-term sustainability and reputation of the Bank
