Job summary

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking an experienced AML Quality Controller (AVP/VP level) to lead quality checks on AML investigations and ensure adherence to UAE and international AML/CTF standards. You will collaborate with AML Monitoring, Compliance, and risk teams to identify and remediate emerging typologies, maintaining robust documentation and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in management, banking or finance, preferably with compliance/AML/risk management certification.
• At least 8 years of banking experience, 5+ in compliance and/or audit in banks.
• Excellent understanding of regional laws and applicable international regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of AML/CTF applied to different banking functions.
• Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills.
• Team player with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage workload.
• Detail-oriented, with integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Fluent in English; bilingual in English and Arabic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a robust quality framework that reviews the quality of investigation undertaken by AML TM team.
• Undertaken thematic review in the unit per money laundering scenarios; identify risk and remediation plan.
• Review work undertaken by AML Monitoring team of Group Operations.
• Assist business stakeholders to identify and analyse business risks.
• Maintain relationships with related divisions for escalation of issues and risk management.
• Review CB UAE circulars to understand required amendments in investigation procedures for ML/terror financing risks.
• Gather market intelligence to understand emerging typologies and perform risk reviews and remediation.
• Maintain records/MI and evidences pertaining to AML QC.
• Keep abreast of related rules, regulations and best practices pertaining to AML and its impact on FAB.
• Develop methods for team effectiveness; verify data reliability, conclusions validity, and assumptions accuracy.
• Provide operational expertise to internal working groups focused on enhancing procedures and creating efficiencies.
• Support the Bank’s Group AML Monitoring Compliance function and standards.
• Engage with MLRO teams and Head of FLOD Compliance Operations as required to report progress and raise risks.
