Synopsis
To manage the turnaround of Etihad flights in coordination with various stakeholders, government departments, and service providers.
Accountabilities
Specific Responsibilities
- Be aware of aircraft details, schedule, expected guest loads, baggage, and cargo loads.
- Brief all stakeholders involved in the flight arrival and departure (gate staff, crew, ramp staff, etc.).
- Manage the flight departure process by leading EY and third-party agent teams with a positive 'can-do' attitude that inspires those around them, while pre-empting and reacting to anticipated issues or delays, and cascading information to all staff to keep guests and operational departments informed of any changes.
- Accountable for operational and last-minute changes affecting the turnaround, such as offloading cargo, guests, and baggage, ensuring accurate load planning for the flight, including timely delivery of the Load Instruction Report (LIR) and final Loadsheet.
- Make effective tactical decisions.
- Allocate delay codes and timings for any off-schedule departures in collaboration with schedule failure teams to assess trends for future service improvements.
- Report turnaround events post-departure professionally and thoroughly, reaching balanced conclusions on delays and lapses in operational performance.
- Responsible for load planning various aircraft types according to company weight and balance rules, from flight creation and estimating zero fuel weights to producing the final Loadsheet and other documentation.
- Identify safety risks on and around the aircraft according to the company risk assessment process and ensure adequate risk mitigation.
Education & Experience
Education and Experience
- Secondary school education, preferably with Maths and/or Science qualifications.
- Load control capability on various aircraft types.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar load control or dispatch role at a major international airport.
- Achieved at least 80% in all online application tests.
- At least 1 year experience in operations such as GSA, Crew, NOC, with a thorough understanding of ground operations.
- Participation in the Disruption Support Group (DSG) or shadowing a turnaround supervisor is desirable.
- Successful completion of the Etihad Airways weight and balance licensing course is also desirable.
Training and Knowledge
- Strong focus on safety.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Training in Dangerous Goods, aircraft weight and balance, ramp, and passenger handling.
- Proficiency in computer use and fluency in English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Qualifications in leadership or coaching are advantageous.
