Job summary

Globant is hiring a Senior AI Engineer for onsite work in Ajman, UAE. The role focuses on building AI-driven, scalable solutions, with emphasis on LLMs, RAG pipelines, tool routing, and safety features. You will design distributed systems, ensure compliance with policy, and drive end-to-end AI product delivery.

You will work with Python/TypeScript, cloud-native stacks, and CI/CD pipelines in regulated environments, delivering robust, observable, and scalable services for digital transformation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years shipping and operating production AI systems.
• Strong Python and TypeScript coding with a focus on testable code.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and distributed systems in regulated environments.
• Hands-on building/shipping LLM-based AI systems, RAG components, tool calling, and safety features.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-driven solutions and orchestration for complex workflows.
• Implement intent classification flows, tool routing, multi-step reasoning, and memory management.
• Build and maintain deterministic validation layers for LLM actions against policy rules.
• Optimize document ingestion, chunking/embedding, vector retrieval, and context injection (RAG).
• Implement Trust Dial enforcement and automated agent evaluation tests to mitigate hallucinations.
• Develop cloud-native, containerized services with scalable architectures.
• Ensure observability with distributed tracing, structured logging, and metrics for latency and errors.
• Manage token budgets, model fallback, and API error handling for LLMs.
• Build idempotent event-driven components on Kafka with sub-second latency targets.

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer who shares our passion for innovation and transformation. This role is critical in building advanced AI-driven solutions that enable our business partners to evolve and meet the growing demand for personalized, intelligent digital experiences.

• AI & Agent System Engineering
• Orchestration: Implement intent classification flows, tool routing logic, multi-step reasoning chains, session memory management, and structured output parsing.
• Tool Gateway: Build and maintain the deterministic validation layer checking LLM actions against policy rules.
• RAG Pipelines: Optimize document ingestion, chunking/embedding workflows, vector retrieval, and context injection.
• Guardrails & Testing: Implement "Trust Dial" enforcement in code to determine autonomous vs. user-confirmed actions. Build automated agent evaluation tests to catch regressions and hallucination risks.
• Cloud-Native Service Development
• Scalable Architecture: Build containerized, stateless, horizontally scalable workloads designed to degrade gracefully if upstream banking APIs fail.
• Observability: Implement distributed tracing across agent calls and API hops, structured logging for audits, and metric instrumentation for latency/error rates.
• LLM Integration: Manage token budgets, streaming response handling, model fallback logic, and API error handling.
• Event-Driven Systems: Build idempotent consumers/producers on the Kafka pipeline with sub-second latency targets.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

• Software Engineering: 4+ years of professional experience shipping and operating production systems at scale.
• Languages: Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript with an emphasis on clean, testable code.
• Distributed Systems: Solid grasp of concurrency, fault tolerance, and API design (REST/GraphQL) in regulated environments.
• Agentic AI Experience: Hands-on experience building/shipping LLM-based systems, RAG components, tool calling mechanisms, and AI safety features (hallucination detection, prompt injection defenses).
• Testing Rigor: Experience building automated evaluation pipelines to validate non-deterministic AI behavior.
• Cloud Native: Strong experience with containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
