Job summary

Etihad Airways seeks a Data Engineer for its Centre of Excellence in Al Ain to develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise data solutions across back-office functions. You will transform operational and financial data into insights while supporting automation and AI-driven initiatives.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, finance, and technology teams to build scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and automation capabilities that improve data quality, controls, and decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field.
• Certification in Data Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, AI, Automation, or related disciplines is desirable.
• 4-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automation, or Digital Transformation.
• Experience in airline, aviation, finance operations, shared services, or large enterprise environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and manage enterprise data, developing scalable data models and automated reporting solutions.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, security, and availability of business-critical data for reporting and compliance.
• Develop KPI dashboards, real-time monitoring tools, and advanced analytics across back-office operations.
• Drive process transformation via automation, AI agents, workflow automation, and low-code solutions.
• Partner with operational teams to drive continuous improvement with data-driven methods.
• Develop and maintain BI dashboards and analytics providing actionable insights into performance.
• Support AI-driven solutions and knowledge repositories to automate transactional activities.

Come join our Centre of Excellence in Al Ain as a Data engineer supporting the team with development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise data solutions across airline back-office functions. The role focuses on transforming operational and financial data into actionable business insights while supporting automation, AI-driven initiatives, and process improvement programs.

The incumbent will work closely with business stakeholders, process owners, finance teams, and technology teams to build scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, dashboards, and automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency, data quality, process controls, and decision-making across the organization.

Accountabilities

• Consolidate and manage enterprise data, developing scalable data models and automated reporting solutions to support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, security, and availability of business-critical data, enabling reliable management reporting, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making across the organization.
• Develop and support KPI dashboards, real-time performance monitoring tools, and advanced analytics solutions across back-office operations, providing actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, and business performance.
• Drive process transformation by identifying and implementing automation opportunities through RPA, AI agents, workflow automation, and low-code solutions, partnering with business stakeholders to redesign processes, eliminate manual interventions, and enhance operational efficiency across finance and administrative functions.
• Partner with operational teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, performing root cause analysis, implementing sustainable solutions, and delivering productivity gains, cost optimization, and enhanced service quality through data-driven process improvement methodologies
• Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, analytics, and reporting solutions that provide actionable insights into operational performance, process efficiency, workload trends, and strategic decision-making.
• Support the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions, AI agents, and knowledge repositories that automate transactional activities, enhance process guidance, improve data validation, and enable intelligent decision-making across finance and operational functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field.
• Certification in Data Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, AI, Automation, or related disciplines is desirable.

Experience

• 4-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automation, or Digital Transformation.
• Experience working in airline, aviation, finance operations, shared services, or large enterprise environments is preferred.

Technical Skills

• SQL and database management.
• Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization platforms.
• Python, SQL, Power Query, or related data engineering tools.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or cloud-based data platforms.
• Familiarity with RPA tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, or Automation Anywhere.
• Basic understanding of AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI Agent frameworks.
