Job summary

HUMAN-AI-Z Nexus Technology is seeking a creative Synthetic Personality Designer to craft distinctive, believable personalities for AI-driven characters and digital humans. You will shape how characters think, communicate and form relationships across diverse environments.

This cross-disciplinary role blends psychology, storytelling and AI, collaborating with developers, writers and product teams to build cohesive personality systems for immersive experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Design, AI or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in character development or related field.
• Strong understanding of personality, motivation, emotion and interpersonal dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to create distinctive and psychologically coherent characters.
• Excellent storytelling, writing and communication skills.
• Understanding of generative AI and conversational AI.
• Ability to translate concepts into structured frameworks for technical teams.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Portfolio of character design and narrative systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design complete personality frameworks for AI characters, digital humans and virtual personas.
• Define character identity, values, motivations, goals, fears, strengths, weaknesses, preferences and behavioral patterns.
• Develop personality profiles that stay consistent across conversations and platforms.
• Create backstories, relationships and narrative foundations.
• Design conversational styles, tone of voice, and emotional expression.
• Translate concepts into prompts, framework and system instructions for AI teams.
• Define responses to emotional, social and situational contexts.
• Develop behavioral rules and interaction principles for AI characters.
• Collaborate with writers and dialogue designers to ensure authentic dialogue.
• Work with AI engineers to translate concepts into prompts and system instructions.
• Develop personality variations for different audiences and use cases.
• Review AI interactions for consistency and drift.
• Create testing scenarios to evaluate credibility and consistency.
• Support character development for entertainment, education and interactive media.
• Maintain detailed character documentation and continuity throughout development.
