Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable garden, horticulture and agricultural products.
• Advise customers on plant care, soil products, fertilizers, irrigation items, gardening tools, outdoor supplies and related product selections.
• Use specialist product knowledge to increase add‑on sales and support better customer buying decisions.
• Maintain the garden section in a clean, organized, safe and visually appealing condition throughout daily operations.
• Operate the point‑of‑sale system when required, ensuring accurate billing, transaction handling and cash process compliance.
• Support delivery receiving by checking products, arranging stock and displaying goods according to approved store procedures.
• Ensure pricing, ticketing and product labels are accurate so customers receive clear information and pricing errors are minimized.
• Apply merchandising standards to keep displays attractive, easy to shop and aligned with the store’s corporate image.
• Train and guide team members on garden product features, usage, care requirements and selling points.
• Assist customers and colleagues with product comparisons, technical questions, availability checks and practical garden‑related advice.
• Support stock takes, seasonal promotions, product launches, new store activities and other retail tasks when required.
• Monitor department cleanliness and help initiate regular cleaning routines for assigned areas.
• Coordinate with store teams to ensure product availability, smooth workflow and strong customer service during busy periods.

Ideal Profile

• Degree in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Agricultural Engineer Certificate is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of garden products, horticulture, plant care, soil, fertilizers, irrigation and outdoor retail categories.
• Good customer service skills with the ability to assist shoppers confidently and professionally.
• Comfortable using a point‑of‑sale system and following cash handling procedures.
