Job summary

Orbitworks, part of Loft Orbital, seeks an Environmental Test Technician to support satellite hardware testing and qualification. You will prepare hardware, configure test equipment, and execute environmental campaigns with close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma, technical qualification, or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or test equipment in a technical environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare spacecraft hardware, components, and test articles for environmental testing.
• Support the execution of environmental test campaigns including vibration, thermal, thermal vacuum, and other tests.
• Install and configure test fixtures, sensors, accelerometers, thermocouples, cables, and data acquisition equipment.
• Prepare test chambers and supporting equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Perform pre-test inspections and verify configurations match documentation.
• Execute test procedures while monitoring hardware and equipment.
• Record test parameters, observations, anomalies, and results.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting hardware or test equipment issues.
• Post-test inspections and hardware removal after testing.
• Maintain test equipment, fixtures, and laboratory areas.
• Support calibration and ensure assets remain within calibration periods.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean environment.
