Job summary

Orbitworks in Abu Dhabi is seeking a hands-on Environmental Test Technician to support the testing and qualification of satellite hardware and spacecraft systems. You’ll work with engineering, manufacturing, quality and test teams to prepare hardware, configure test equipment, execute environmental test campaigns, and ensure safe, accurate results in accordance with approved procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or associate degree in a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or test equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and read engineering docs.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment instructions.
• Experience using basic measurement and test equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, particularly with sensitive hardware.

Responsibilities

• Set up hardware, instrumentation, fixtures, and test facilities for environmental testing.
• Execute approved environmental test procedures safely and accurately.
• Install and verify sensors, measurement equipment, data acquisition systems, and cabling.
• Maintain accurate test records, configuration information, observations, and results.
• Support calibration and readiness of environmental test equipment and lab tooling.
• Troubleshoot hardware or test-equipment issues with engineers.
• Follow safety, quality, and configuration-control requirements.
