Job description

Driven to create unique home-grown food concepts that bring people together, the Independent Food Company is a UAE-based hospitality company with multiple concepts under its umbrella – SALT, Switch, Parker’s, Grind, Somewhere, and Public.

We are currently seeking an Inventory Controller / Data Entry for our Restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The key requirements include the following:

Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the Provision Master, provides analysis of F&B stores consumption to handle the ordering of Food and Beverage as accurately as possible.
  • Input all POs, invoices, inventories, and stocks received into the computer.
  • Maintain updated food inventory daily in cooperation with the Provision Master.
  • Carry out spot-checks on the restaurant and Central Kitchen rotating stock-takes.
  • Perform checks on storing operations on the pier.
  • Input requisitions into the computer.
  • Control and ensure that no item leaves the stores without requisition.
  • Account for stock transfers between onboard locations.
  • Input physical bar stock counts into the computer system and analyze discrepancies for further review.
  • Hold minimum spot checks every second day on inventories in bars, food and beverage stores, galleys, and cellars.
  • Monitor tips and bonuses to bar staff.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by superiors.
  • Compile physical inventory routines for each food & beverage location, verifying inventory levels at least once per cruise, especially in the Crew Bar and other high-variance bars.
  • Prepare voyage reports at the end of each cruise for approval by the F&B Manager and send to the shore side office.
  • Supervise and manage daily responsibilities.
  • Conduct audits and reconciliations during the voyage, and implement new controls and procedures, addressing system and financial control issues.
  • Run end-of-day reports on all bar POS workstations and distribute sales analysis reports as needed.
  • Input data into spreadsheets to support control functions.
  • Review 'undefined' accounts.
  • Address computer problems as they arise.
  • Proven experience as Data Entry or Inventory Controller.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent typing and inventory skills.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills.
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
