Under the direction of the School Science Department, the School Science Lab Assistant performs a variety of tasks related to the support of chemistry, biology and physics labs in both junior and senior science classes. We are seeking a Learning Assistant, in the lab who will be vigilant in monitoring student safety and be prepared to address safety emergencies including the clean-up of hazardous spills of materials, such as mercury and acids and bases.

Key Accountabilities

• Act as the first point of contact, managing visitors, and enquiries professionally
• Respond to telephone/email enquiries from parents and public
• Oversee daily attendance, records, and student sign-in/out in line with safeguarding procedures
• Assist the head of EY, support with daily tasks as requested.
• Assist with all administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, etc.
• Assist in locating students when reported “missing” from class
• Understand data protection and confidentiality
• Work to deadlines in a calm and confident manner when under pressure
• Assist with school events such as Parent Open Days and School Performances.
• Liaise with parents and maintain accurate ECA registers and attendance records
• Carry out any such task as shall be deemed necessary to the smooth running of the school.
• Perform any other duty upon request
