The School of Social Sciences / Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University Dubai is inviting applications for Adjunct Faculty positions in Business Management, Accounting, Economics and Finance, Marketing, and Operations. Roles & Responsibilities for adjuncts

• Undertaking teaching and assessment duties on academic programmes. Support colleagues in Edinburgh Business School in the delivery of courses and activities to support the university's aims.
• Contribute to developing relevant materials, content design and delivery, and the quality of teaching and learning in consultation with colleagues and within international structures established by the University.
• Mentor and supervise students, providing effective, well-documented, timely feedback (formative and summative). Provide pastoral support and refer students for further support when needed. Contribute to delivering an excellent student learning and living experience at HWU.
• Develop and maintain strong links with business and industry and external organisations.
• Collaborate with colleagues at the Dubai campus and other campuses where applicable, and with external networks for information exchange, learning sharing, and future collaboration.
• Manage typical time commitments including contact hours, preparation, assessment, and feedback across a 12- to 15-week teaching and assessment semester.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Ability to teach Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate programmes
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience (if no previous University teaching experience)
• Previous teaching or training experience is preferred
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is essential as programmes are delivered in English

Other requirements

Applicants must be in the UAE on a resident visa and provide a NO-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the visa sponsor. UAE Nationals and Golden visa holders do not need to provide an NOC. Right-to-work documentation includes a colored passport copy with visa page, Emirates ID (front and back), attested degree, NOC, and degree equivalency certificate. Degree attestations should be completed within six months of joining.
