Qualifications

About the Role

The School of Business is seeking PhD-qualified academics and/or industry professionals with expertise in Business Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Management, or related fields to teach postgraduate subjects focused on the application of emerging data and AI technologies to business problems and decision‑making.

The subjects are offered within the School of Business and are designed from a business, managerial and applied analytics perspective.

Applied Machine Learning and AI for Business

This subject focuses on applying AI and Machine Learning techniques to solve real‑world business problems and support business decision‑making across different industries.

Key areas:

• Supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning
• Regression, classification and decision trees
• KNN, SVM and clustering
• Time‑series analysis and neural networks
• Data preparation, feature selection and model validation
• Business applications using Python and/or SAS Viya

Big Data Management and Integration

This subject focuses on the business use, management and integration of data to support analytics, organisational decision‑making and business performance.

Key areas:

• SQL, relational databases and NoSQL
• Structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data
• Hadoop and Apache Spark
• Data lakes, data warehouses and cloud platforms
• Data pipelines and ETL
• Data Quality, Ethics and Governance
• Business applications using Oracle, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or similar platforms

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and interactive lectures to post graduate level students.
• Develop engaging learning materials using contemporary case studies.
• Facilitate critical discussion on application of emerging data and AI technologies to business problems and decision‑making.
• Integrate real-world examples and industry developments into teaching.

About You

• The ideal candidate should have:
• A PhD in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Systems, Big Data, Data Management, Statistics, or a closely related discipline
• Strong business‑oriented academic and/or industry expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Big Data or Data Analytics
• University‑level teaching experience, preferably at postgraduate level
• Practical experience with relevant analytics, data or AI technologies
• The ability to translate technical concepts into business applications, managerial insights and decision‑making
• Experience applying AI, Machine Learning or Big Data to real‑world business or industry challenges
• Candidates with a strong business analytics, management or industry application focus are particularly encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will enjoy interaction with a professional dynamic team of highly respected educators from more than 50 different countries and exposure to students from over 100 nationalities.

The University offers adjunct lecturers at postgraduate level a compensation of AED 15,000/- per lecture for the trimester. This covers teaching, grading and providing subject consultation for students. The University is located in Knowledge Park, Dubai and has excellent teaching, learning and research facilities as well as a Library that meets international standards.
