Job summary

A diversified Main Contractor in Sharjah is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to lead their accounts payable and treasury team. The role involves overseeing the complete accounts payable process, managing banking relationships, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Ideal candidates will hold a CA, CFA, or CMA qualification and have over 10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and audit coordination.

Job description

We are a diversified Main Contractor looking for Accounts Payable Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the accounts-payable and treasury team, offering guidance and reviewing performance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and monitor cash forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Manage banking relationships with various banking partners in the region and review banking fees to optimize costs and services.
  • Monitor and manage the opening, renewals, and closure of bonds and guarantees, highlight any risks identified.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounts payable and treasury policies and procedures.
  • Partner with other departments (corporate and regional level) to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Co-ordinate with SOX, internal and external audit teams, provide necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, invoice management, vendor relations, and payment processing.
  • Experience with financial controls, SOX compliance, and audit coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
