A leading company in the UAE is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support financial processes ensuring accurate payments and compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience, preferably in energy or construction projects, and contribute to developing UAE Nationals as part of the Emiratization strategy.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in energy or construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Governmental experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable processes including invoice recording and payment auditing.

Job description

Job Purpose

To support the accounts payable processes required to transact timely and accurate payments to suppliers, validate supplier invoices, obtain appropriate approvals, and record transactions in ENEC Financial Systems in accordance with IFRS.

Key Activities, Responsibilities & Accountability

The role involves disseminating information in a manner that assists in building internal capabilities within the UAE where applicable and maximizes effective performance.

Activity: Excellence and Quality Management

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste, following operational procedures, practicing innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork; comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures; provide and receive constructive feedback; strive to meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Commit to the Nawah Fundamentals.

Activity: Processing Supplier Payments

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Utilize Oracle ERP and other business systems to support timely and accurate accounts payable processes, including receiving invoices, recording expenses/assets/CWIP, monthly accruals, correcting cost centers and accounts, and auditing payables against internal controls and delegation of authorities.
  • Audit AP payment requests against checklists, follow up with stakeholders for supporting documentation as needed, in accordance with ENEC procedures.
  • Coordinate with procurement and other departments to ensure payment terms align with FNA requirements and sub-DOA.
  • Respond to supplier queries regarding payments to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Activity: Accounting, Reconciliation, and Reporting

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Prepare reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, identify anomalies and variances, and escalate issues to management.
  • Reconcile Vendor/Supplier Statements of Accounts as required.
  • Support the accounting of supplier invoices, credit notes, and periodic closure of the AP sub-module within deadlines.

  • Facilitate internal and external communication to build and nurture mutually beneficial relationships.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Take personal responsibility for safety, follow HSE policies, report hazards, and avoid misuse of workplace resources.
  • Ensure security policies and procedures are followed to protect assets and personnel.
  • Adhere to Business Continuity plans to ensure critical operations continue during disruptions.

  • Support the development of UAE National employees aligning with the company's objectives and Emiratization strategy.
